Changing the pushpin into an image

May 8, 2009 at 9:45 AM

Hi guys,

While I was working on my project I started to wonder if it is possible to change the standard pushpin into an image.
I tried to set the background of the pushpin, but the pushpin stays as it is, and adds the image right under the pin.

Could anybody help me with this?

Thanks, Toner.

Toner,

If you want to replace the entire pushpin visual, you can use standard WPF control template techniques to supply your own control template for the pushpin.  The control will be placed so the bottom center is over the lat/long.

If just want a picture inside of the pushpin, then just stick an image as the content of the pushpin.

Hi joshb,

Sorry about this, but I'm still new to this stuff. Could you give me an example of how to do this? Cause I can't figure it out.
I generate the pins in my codebehind.

Thanks.

For the simpler option, you'll want to just put an Image inside a VEPushPin:

<map:VEPushPin>

<Image ... />

</map:VEPushPin>

If you want to learn about control templates, there are plenty of resources for learning that.  Just search for "wpf control template tutorial" or similar terms.
